This Privacy Policy explains how the Rapid Improvement study team at George Mason University collects, uses, and protects information when you use our decision-support system. .

Information we collect:

  • Mobile phone number - if you choose to provide it.
  • Enrollment information you submit during eligibility screening and enrollment.

How we use your information:

  • To send a one-time verification code (OTP) to verify your phone number.
  • To send you messages related to study-related status updates.

SMS/Text messaging:

If you opt-in to receive SMS messages, we may send you one-time verification codes and messages related to any other study updates.

You can opt-out at any time by replying STOP. For help, reply HELP.

Sharing:

We may share limited information like your contact numbers with service providers who help us operate the system and can provide you with support if desired only to deliver and manage the service. We do not sell your phone number or any personal information.

Data retention:

We retain phone numbers and SMS message logs securely for up to 2/3 months for compliance, auditing, and troubleshooting. After the retention period, your contact number will be de-identified in accordance with our policies.

Program description:

Rapid Improvement AI is a George Mason University research study. The purpose of the study is to test whether an AI system can help people with depression identify which commonly used oral antidepressants will work best for them.

SMS/Text messaging terms:

  • Purpose: OTP (one-time verification code), eligibility/enrollment confirmations, and study-related status updates.
  • Message frequency: will vary based on your level of enrollment activity.
  • Cost: normal message and data rates may apply.
  • Opt-out: you can reply STOP at any time to stop messages.
  • Help: you can reply HELP to seek assistance.

Consent

You consent to receive SMS messages by voluntarily providing your mobile number during the online Eligibility determination process and checking the required SMS consent checkbox. We use an OTP message to verify your phone number.
